Kenwood Chef Titanium Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

Hello foodies! In addition to recipes, I also enjoy reviewing kitchen products for my blog. I started writing product reviews because I look for comprehensive information and reviews whenever I buy a new kitchen appliance. Sometimes I can’t find what I’m looking for, or at least not in one place. My reviews therefore cover the information I lacked before purchasing. Today’s review is for the Kenwood Chef Titanium food processor.

I’ve been using the Chef XL Titanium for a year now. During that time, I’ve baked cakes and desserts, baked bread, prepared Hungarian sausage, and processed countless fruits and vegetables. When I first considered this food processor, I searched for a detailed review before purchasing it, but couldn’t find one that answered all my questions. So I went ahead and bought it anyway. A year later, I know this appliance well enough to give you my comprehensive and detailed feedback.

Before I begin, I want to clarify that this is NOT a sponsored review; I purchased all the appliances myself. I’ve included some affiliate links at the end of this post. If you purchase this food processor through my link, I receive a small commission, which helps me run the blog. The selling price remains unchanged. Thank you for your support – let’s go!

Available Attachments

Kenwood Chef stand mixers come with a variety of attachments. I don’t own all of them, so I only review the ones I’ve used and tested myself. A complete list of available attachments can be found on the Kenwood website. However, please note that some XL and standard-sized bowls are not interchangeable.

– The Kenwood XL series has three attachments.

– The bowl outlet is for the main bowl attachments and whisks.

– The slow outlet is for meat grinders, mills, fruit presses, pasta makers and cutters, and dicing and slicing attachments.

– The fast outlet is for food processors, blenders, choppers, slicers, and juicers.

Bowl Attachments

Cream Whisk XL (AT502)

  • The cream whisk features removable, flexible spatulas (blades) that scrape the bowl while whipping.

Folding Tool XL (AT512)

  • The folding tool is perfect for fluffy and light doughs, as it folds airlessly.

I have already used the attachments mentioned above. Other attachments include:

  • Freezer Processor XL (KAB957PL)
  • Puree & Sieve XL (KAB930PL)
  • Glass Bowl (not available for XL) (KAT550GL)

Pros & Cons

The Kenwood Chef XL Titanium is a high-performance mixer ideal for anyone who cooks and bakes large quantities. The 6.7-liter bowl holds enormous amounts of dough. I’ve already made three or even four times that amount of bread, cake batter, cookie dough, and ground meat in a single bowl.

All attachments are excellently made and sturdy. I’ve had mixers from other reputable brands, and the quality of the beaters and whisks surpasses most. The mixer’s performance is also impressive: With a 1700-watt motor, it handles any recipe with ease. Kenwood also offers a 10-year warranty on the motors of its Titanium models—a sign of the company’s confidence in the quality of its components. Important note: All other Titanium Chef models only have a 5-year warranty on the motor.

NOTE: The overall warranty for all Chef mixers is 2 years.

What I love about the Chef Titanium?

What I particularly appreciate about this stand mixer is the motor power, the LED bowl lighting, and the large capacity.

Kneading and heavy doughs!

I often bake cookies, bread, and pizza, so a sturdy dough hook and a large capacity are essential for me. The motor handles any dough with ease.

The motor occasionally heats up during intensive kneading, but it doesn’t overheat. Kenwood recommends kneading dough only at a low base speed and not at high speed. I’ve seen people burn out their motors doing this. Stick to the recommended settings, and you won’t have any problems. This also shows how important it is to read the manual, even if it seems obvious.

Cakes & Light Doughs

Baking cakes is a breeze with this stand mixer. The bowl offers enough space for multiple batches. It’s also easily accessible from the sides for adding ingredients while mixing. The plastic lid prevents flour and powdered sugar from spilling around the kitchen. A plastic spatula is included for scraping the bowl. Please note, however, that this is not a silicone spatula. Unfortunately, I discovered that it is not heat-resistant. 🙂

Cleaning & Storage

This stand mixer is large and therefore takes up a lot of space. If you have limited kitchen space, you should opt for the smaller models. The mixer and accessories take up a lot of space in my cupboard. Furthermore, the stand mixer is very heavy at 10.4 kg.

Cleaning the stand mixer is easy; everything is easily accessible. The bowl lid is removable and made of silicone. It can be easily removed and cleaned. This is very useful when something spills on the edge of the bowl. I often found myself scraping egg whites and other foods. The smooth, straight edges of the stand mixer are easy to wipe and keep clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the XL and Elite models of the Chef Titanium?

The difference lies in the motor power and bowl size. Since the 1000-watt motor is significantly more powerful than the 1700-watt motor, the price difference is also considerable.

Which attachments are included as standard?

All Chef stand mixers come with a K-beater, whisk, and dough hook. Some sets include significantly more attachments, and many are also available individually.

Do XL attachments fit Elite stand mixers and vice versa?

The answer is: some fit, some don’t. Please check before purchasing. Slow and fast speed attachments seem to be universal. Bowl attachments may depend on the size of the stand mixer.
